Seit dem 16. Januar 2021 finden ist die neue Struktur der europäischen Generaldirektion für internationale Zusammenarbeit im Internet zu finden. Die Generaldirektion heißt nun „Directorate-General for International Partnerships / DG INTPA“ und löst die alte Bezeichnung „Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development / DG DEVCO“ ab.
In der Presseerklärung der Kommission heißt es dazu: „The new title, mission statement and structure reflect the important role of international partnerships in shaping a stronger role for the EU globally, in eradicating poverty, advancing towards the Sustainable Development Goals and promoting democracy, human rights and the rule of law.“
Das Direktorat G „Human Development, Migration, Governance and Peace” wird von Henriette Geiger geleitet. Die Zuständigkeit für „Local Authorities, Civil Society Organisations and Foundations“ finden sich nun gebündelt in der Abteilung G2, das von Marlene Holzner geleitet wird.
Entwicklungspolitische Bildung/Global Education wird im „DEAR-Team“ bearbeitet, das in der Abteilung G3 „Youth, Education and Culture“ angesiedelt ist.
